Jason’s Thoughts and Recommendations
One of the smoothest machines on the market, hands down. I prefer the LHR 15 over the LHR 21 for a couple of reasons.
1. The 5-inch backing plate - The larger your backing plate and polishing pad the harder it is to get into small areas. With cars getting more intricate with their body lines I find the LHR15 a little bit more manageable in these areas.
2. Stick to one size - If you have a shop, keeping things simple is important. I do not see a need to get a 5-inch and a 6-inch machine. This means you will have to keep a variety of both size polishing and cutting pads in stock.
Rupes has spent a lot of time and research to find out what pads and abrasive liquid work with their system. I recommend using their pads and liquid abrasives.
